Happy Easter

This Easter was a little different because I get to see both sides of the family. It was exciting. On Saturday I drove home to Belmont and my family and I went out to dinner at a place called Big Man's. It was good. I had a baked potato, the salad bar, and grilled chicken. That's my idea of a good meal regardless of what others think. I love the food that I get when I go home to be with my family. Wish that I could take them with me everywhere and that we would never have to be separated at all. Josh had to stay in Boone because they had baseball games over Easter weekend. It was sad but it made me thankful that this is really the only holiday that I have to be without him because at Christmastime he gets to be with our family and for that I am thankful. Anyways, Saturday night was a restful night at home. Then Sunday morning we woke up and got ready for church. The Easter service was very nice and it was good to see familiar faces at my home church. I always love going there because it is where I grew up. Everyone knows me like family there. After church we ate a great lunch at my house and then I got my things together to head to Advance to be with the Porter's. It was so great to see them because I believe that we hadn't seen each other since Christmas. We had an excellent dinner of bread, my favorite chicken casserole, okra (which I have discovered I love), and some great sweet tea. I always love the sweet tea there because Pat makes it so wonderfully. We talked and laughed together and it was so great. I really feel as if they are family and not just in-laws. They are wonderful! I am excited about going on vacation together again in July. Disney is going to be amazing. Disney is so much fun anyways and being with family always makes it that much more fun.

The North Carolina Tarheels

These North Carolina Tarheels are a big passion of mine. Throughout my life I had always been told that Carolina is the best. My Dad went there, my grandfather went there, my uncle went there, my aunt went there, my cousin went there, and several other family members as well. I guess that the love began early in my life. I remember watching games against Duke, etc. throughout my younger years and now I have continued that tradition in my 20's. I think that Carolina has a lot of rhythm, speed, and of course a fabulous coach! This coach though comes after a legend, Dean Smith. I thought that the world was going to fall apart when Coach Dean Smith retired. He definitely was like a father to the basketball team and he led them to many wins. I think that this championship in 2009 was the 5th NCAA championship title that they have won and they have been to the final four 18 times. I think that this is the most that any team has gone to the tournament. Woohoo!

Commentary
North Carolina set first-half records for points and the biggest lead in an NCAA championship game in pulling away to a 89-72 victory over Michigan State on Monday night. Wayne Ellington was 7-for-9 from the field in the first half, including making all three of his 3-point attempts, and had 15 points for UNC, which shot 54.8 percent in the half.
I think that UNC deserved this more than any other team. They have worked hard and are #1.

Lindsay's Bachelorette Weekend!!!!!!!!!!

On April 3rd I left work at about 1:00. I came home, packed my things, took the dogs out, and got in the car ready to go. I traveled to Lindsay's house and was so exhausted but could hardly wait to get there. When I finally got there I unloaded, said hi to everyone, and then took a shower. We had a big spaghetti dinner with salad and garlic bread made by Carly and Heather. They are very good cooks! Then we played games: Taboo, Yahtzee, and Circle of Death. That was a lot of fun! Then we were tired so we took the dogs upstairs and went to sleep. Sophie and Maggie and Lady were good friends. Maggie and Sophie are both hound dogs so I think that they loved each other more. Haha! I don't think that Lady was offended though since she has all of the people's love.
The next morning we woke up, put some clothes on, ate breakfast, and then went to the Northlake Mall. I had never been there before so it was very exciting. I got a dress for the bachelorette party night, a dress for Easter, and a dress for the rehearsal dinner. After the mall trip we went back to Lindsay's and got ready. We got all of our things together and then drove to downtown Charlotte. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Center City. Room 614 was decorated for the shower and it was so nice. The lingerie shower was fun and Lindsay got all kinds of fun things for her married life. After this we got ready to go out and caught a cab. We went to Mez at the epicenter first and then to Cans. Cans was a lot of fun and the place that we stayed at the longest. Lindsay was hilarious. We got back that night and Lindsay was hilarious. She def fell asleep talking to John on the phone. I had to hang up for her. Haha! I should have just left her hand up there and seen how long that it took for the phone to fall.

The next morning we got our things together, checked out, and then ate breakfast at IHOP. We traveled back to Lindsay's and then I went to my parents house and got to have a little bit of my favorite chicken salad and fruit (strawberries..yummm). I also got a gift from them for Lindsay. After visiting a bit I headed back to take them their present and to get the dogs to head back home. I was sad to be leaving and wish that the weekend could just stay forever. Everyone had such a great time during the bachelorette weekend and I can't wait for the wedding. Counting down the days...
